Choosing a Shower Waterproofing System
A shower waterproofing system is the continuous barrier that stops water reaching the framing. The main approaches are bonded sheet membrane, liquid-applied membrane, foam board panels and traditional mortar-bed assemblies. Any of them can perform well when installed as a complete system per the manufacturer. Most failures come from mixing incompatible products or skipping detail work at corners, curbs and penetrations.
